Mr. Humphrey's House

I have been working on a small house for the Free-mo portion of the Lelco Spur. I picked up the "Drayton" produced by Branchline Trains. This is a laser cut building featuring peel and stick parts and tab construction. The building went together rather quickly and I decided to add an extension to the house so he could have indoor plumbing. I also added a garden and some flowers around the house for visual interest. FREE BEER...tomorrow

I am continuing to work on my Haines Distribution center, I still have a few interior details to finish up. I have done a little weathering on the building but I still need to add sings, final details and finish weathering the building. I am going to take a little break for now and work on the Lelco Sawmill building so I can continue to work the area around both structures. I find that I like to work from back to front so I am not working over existing completed scenes.

Haines Distribution

I have been continuing to work on my Lelco spur with most of my focus now on the structures. I have laid out the road and built up the foundation for the Haines Distribution Building. I have also painted both buildings with the base colors, I still have lots of detailing to do and weathering but they are starting to come together.

I'M BACK!!!

Okay, it has been way to long since I have posted on my blog. Since my last post I have purchased a house, moved in, and finally got settled. I still remain fairly busy so my goal is to post at least once a month. If I get in a groove I will try to post more frequently, but only time will tell.

Rolling along...

I have been working on the scenery on my North Junction Free-mo module in anticipation of participating in an event in Belaire Kansas in June. I still need to add some trees and details but for the most part this module is done. I was playing around with photo shop and created this mix of images, I am pretty happy with the color match and will plan on playing around with photos more.

More photos of the module can be found HERE

Shellubrication

The service bay is now open for business, come on down...

This Shell station is part of my Hudson House module I am working on. It will sit near the edge of the module so people can really appreciate all the details. I still have a few interior details to add then I will focus on the exterior of the building and finish up the diorama. To see some more progress photos check it out here: Bend Oregon Free-mo

Markers on the rear...HIGHBALL

I was able to wire up my module with the bus and feeder wires. I still need to make a set of Jones plugs, but for now I can at least turn the lights on my equipment. I was also able to add some more static grass and shrubs to the scene. I will be working on the hillside next and then onto ballasting the track.

Gone Fishing...

I have been slowly working on my North Junction Free-mo section the last few weeks. I have got the Envirotex in place for the river and a coat of gloss medium. I had some scenery materials sitting around and I wanted to test some of the out. I started with my grass tufts from Scenic Express and blended up some static grass. So far I am pretty happy with the results. I still have some wiring and technical stuff to do for this module but I figured a little scenery would get me motivated.

Hudson House Module

Progress continues on the Hudson House Grocery Distributor module. I have glued all the pink foam in place with liquid nails, I have mocked up the road locations in styrene and I have built a cut out for the gas station. Next on my list of things to do are to get the track in place, I am going to modify the Walthers #8 with Proto87 stored frogs and throwbars. Once this is completed I can secure the track and get it wired. I will be working on the Shell Station as a side project off the layout. I have entered it in the Railroad-line Forums 2 month challenge, so I hope I can come through.

Here is the module to date:

Rails in the canyon

I was able to combine a few pieces of Micro Engineering flex track and get things figured out as to where I need to drill for feeders. I will try to get the trackwork done this week and get it wired up and tested. I then can move on to ballasting the track.

Let's ROCK the NEW YEAR...

I was able to grab some shots of my North Junction Free-Mo. I have completed most of the basic landforminging including carving a rock face into the cliff. I did do a first layer of color on the rocks but I am not to happy with the way they turned out. I am going to start with a different base color which I hope results in closer to what I am going for. I also may even add some more rock to the face as I still don't think it is just right.
